St. Paul Minnesota based Hypersleep kicks things off with I & II by crafting a mixture of field recordings from nature and urban locations, then infuses them with deep electronic sound design to form near future cyberpunk environments that seem to slow time down to a halt.
The resulting ambience is not really crafted for background listening but rather full body immersion. This record seems to have enough mass and density to generate it’s own gravitational pull.
Hypersleep as a name feels like an appropriate way to describe the concept of the sound as it enters a state of deep, uninterrupted stasis.

St. Paul Minnesota based Hypersleep will be releasing the album I & II on 12/19/2023 via Upper Realm. The record consists of two vast ambient sound environments, built from a composite of field recordings and deep electronic sound design. The field recordings that are used were sourced from both natural and urban environments and interestingly complement each other very well within the context that they have been placed. On I, the result is a deep atmospheric tension that feels like it would be right at home within the first two Alien films. On II, the mood is a bit lighter like a glimmer of hope within a dystopian cyberpunk backdrop. The album will be available on CD and digital formats. The album artwork photography is by Hypersleep.
